First Look or Aisle Reveal? A Practical Take from NC Photographers
Six veteran NC wedding photographers weigh in on the trade-offs between a first look and a traditional aisle reveal.

Every NC photographer we talked to has an opinion on first looks, and most of them are nuanced. The short version: a first look buys you 60–90 minutes of usable portrait time and dramatically lowers stress on the timeline, at the cost of one ritual moment.
If your ceremony starts after 4 PM in summer or after 3 PM in winter, a first look is almost always the right call — the alternative is sunset-only portraits, which look beautiful but constrain everything.
